Jess "Sonny" Driskill
January 18, 1938 — August 15, 2024
Jess "Sonny" Driskill, 86, passed away at home on August 15, 2024. He was born in Steele, MO on January 18, 1938, to the late Woodrow and Ada Belle (Carlton) Driskill. Sonny married the love of his life Peggy Fowler on August 2, 1959. He worked for Schenk Farms for 25 years as a foreman and continued his career with Trailer Bridge as semi-truck driver. Sonny was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
In his free time he enjoyed traveling with his family, reading, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Atlanta Braves, spending time with his grandchildren and watching Dale Jarret in NASCAR. Sonny was a true family man and will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents Woody and Ada Driskill; wife Peggy Driskill; siblings Kaye Driskill and Carlton Driskill.
Sonny is survived by his daughters Lynn (David) Hernandez and Kim (Clay) Dayson; grandchildren Lizabeth Browning, Larissa (Matthew) McCoy, Leah (Eric) Oppy-Johnson, Hayden Dayson, Caroline Dayson; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings Shirley (Ray) Yochum, Don (Reba) Driskill, Doug (Karen) Driskill, Becki Linneweber, Faye Driskill.
Goodwin-Sievers is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Driskill. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at 524 Broadway St. from 3-7 pm. A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 11 am with burial a Memorial Park following immediately.
