Joan Barrett

Joan Kay Barrett, 74, of Owensville, IN went to be with the Lord October 24, 2021. She was born January 22, 1947 in Lawrence, IL to the late Paul and Retha Medlin. Jo attended and graduated from Lawrenceville High School. She worked as an office manager for National Homecare now known as American Communities. Jo married the love of her life Ronald Barrett July 18, 1996. She attended New Life Church in Princeton, IN. Jo was very artsy and enjoyed sewing, painting, crafting and scrapbooking. She loved baking and cooking for her friends and family. Jo liked to spend time outside working in her garden. She and Ronald loved traveling and visiting casinos and flea markets. Jo was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ronald Barrett; and brother Lee Medlin. She is survived by her children Lori (James) Frederick and Donnie (Trisha) Garrett; step children Tony (Dawna) Barrett and Randy (Michelle) Barrett; siblings Keila (Michael) Streck and Linda Jacobs; 12 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. Holder's Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. Barrett. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 28, 2021 from 9a-11a at the funeral home. Funeral will be held at 11a with graveside to follow at Antioch Cemetery.
