Joe Berry

Joe Louis Berry, 76, of 1615 Cavanaugh, Vincennes, passed away at 2:00 am Thursday, April 23, 2015 at the New Willow Manor.He was born in Vincennes on June 19, 1938 to Virgil and Dorothy (Peach) Berry. Joe had worked at Schenk Farms and Miller Construction as a diesel mechanic. His memberships included being a lifetime member of the Lawrenceville VFW and the Vincennes American Legion, proudly serving his country in the United States Air Force. Some of Joe's favorite things to do were to garden and mow grass.Surviving are his step-children, Sheila Kenworthy of Vincennes, Oma (Jack) Lightfoot of Houston Texas, Billie (Charles) Peach of South Carolina, Dennis (Anita) Hurt of Tecumseh, OK, and Bill Hurt of Sedalia, MO; his brothers and sisters, Nancy Shots of Seymour, Peggy Miles of Vincennes, Dave Berry of Vincennes, Jim Berry of Plainville, and Ben Berry of Vincennes; along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lucy (Miller) Berry; two sons; and his brothers, Bud, Dick, and Bill Berry.Graveside services will be held at 2:00 Tuesday April 28, 2015 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Honors by the American Legion, VFW, and 40 et 8 all weather firing squad.
