Joe Johnson

Joe Ray Johnson, 82, of Owensville, IN passed away unexpectedly June 20, 2021. He was born December 24, 1938 in Owensville, IN to the late Alexander Johnson and Pearl (Horath) Johnson. Joe graduated from Owensville High School in 1956. He dedicated 33 years to Potter and Brumfield as a Metallurgical Specialist before becoming the owner/operator of Johnson Commercial Mowing in 1991. Joe married Janette (Bryant Wright) Johnson March 27, 1993. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing and hunting. More currently he loved spending time with his family, collecting old cars, and tractors. Joe will be missed by so many. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Rose Marie (Cleveland) Johnson; siblings Harold Johnson, Neva Wilson, Imogene Glover, Owen Johnson, Nolan Johnson, and Kenneth Johnson; and great grandson Peyton DeBord. Joe is survived by his wife of 28 years, Janette Johnson; children Ronald (Patti) Johnson and Kimberly (Mike) Chandler; step children Brian (Vangie) Wright and Greg Wright; sister Marcia Williams; grandchildren Lyndsi (Donnie) Deer, Todd (Katie) Chandler, Janelle (Matt) Wasson, Vanessa (Nathan) DeBord, Blake Johnson, and Ashlyn Wright; great grand children McKade, Chandler, and Bennett Deer, Walter Chandler, Ellie and Bralynn Wasson, Alexandria, Brooklynn, and Jovie DeBord. Holder's Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Johnson. Visitation will be held Wednesday at Holder's Funeral Home 319 S. Main St. Owensville from 4p-8p. Funeral 10a Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Holders Funeral Home with interment at Maumee Cemetery. Mask are recommended for those that are not vaccinated.
