John Blackburn

John S. Blackburn, 50, of Vincennes, passed away Aug. 31, 2014, at Good Samaritan Hospital. John was a drummer with various area bands. He loved to fish, play moped tag, and spend time with his grandkids. Born March 20, 1964, in Cherry Point, NC, he was the son of Frank and Martha (Downey) Blackburn. His parents, and a brother, Gary Wayne Blackburn, preceded him. Surviving are his children, Johnathan Derek Blackburn, and his companion, Tabitha Freeman, of Vincennes, Justine Blackburn of Vincennes, Christina Blackburn-Hall of California, Jessica Blackburn of Newburgh, IN, and Thomas Blackburn, stationed with the US Army in Texas; a sister, Susan Blackburn of Washington, IN; brothers, Frank Blackburn, Jr. and his wife, Janet, of Lima, OH, Dave Blackburn and his wife, Joni, of Vincennes, and Joe Blackburn and his wife, Ann Marie, of Ponte Vedra, FL; a sister-in-law, Pat Blackburn of Vincennes; and his grandchildren, Derek Bentlee Blackburn, Xavier Ian Blackburn, and Claudia Hall. A graveside service will be held at 2:15, Tuesday, at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 at Goodwin Funeral Home.
