John J. Cardini II

John J. Cardini II, born on July 24, 1947, in Vincennes, Indiana, son of John J. Cardini Sr. and Betty Duncan, and stepson to Georgia Cardini, passed away on February 24, 2025, at the age of 77.

John proudly served his country as a Marine and later in the Navy, showcasing his unwavering commitment to duty and service. He also dedicated many years to public service as a police officer at Vincennes University. His passion for working with his hands also led him to a fulfilling career as an electrician, where he was known for his skill and determination.

An avid reader, John had a special fondness for science fiction, often finding solace and enjoyment within the pages of his favorite books. His inquisitive nature and love for storytelling earned him the admiration of friends and family alike.

John is survived by his children, Lynn Morris and husband Terry of Vincennes, In and John C. Cardini and wife Cathy of Greenwood, In; step daughter, Kim Harvey and husband Robert of Port Huron, Michigan; grandchildren, Shayla, Sarah, Joshua, Jeremiah, Christopher, and Bella; and 3 great grandchildren. John is preceded in death by his parents, John J. Cardini Sr. and Betty Duncan; and daughter, Christina Maria Cardini.

John will be missed by his family, and also by his VA friends at Lucas Place II, who knew him as "Dave".

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Memorial Park Cemetery. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care of John.
