John Hatton

John O. Hatton, 80, of Vincennes, passed away at 12:43 am Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital.He was born February 26, 1935 in Vincennes to Roy and Ruth (Bowers) Hatton.John farmed his entire life and also was a Rural Route mail carrier for over 30 years. John was a member of the Bruceville Christian Church where he had served as a deacon and was a graduate of Fritchton High School. His passions in life were gardening, mushroom hunting, and picking berries.Surviving is his wife, Billie Jean (Deisher) Hatton; his children, Debra Reeves of Vincennes, Dave (Angie) Hatton of Vincennes, and Doug (Kim) Hatton of Vincennes; his sisters, Gladys Lamb of Bicknell, and Mary Ruth Michaelis of Vincennes; his grandchildren, Rebecca Reeves, Heather (Hatton)Gough, Justin Hatton, Dustin Hatton, and Nathan Hatton; and one great grandchild on the way.He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Joe Hatton; and a great granddaughter Eden Gough.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Friday September 4, 2015 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Brent Cramer officiating. Burial will follow in the Royal Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the GSH Hospice or the March of Dimes.
