John A. Moore, 84, of 3 Kylee Drive, Vincennes, passed away at 8:23 a.m. Sunday, June 16, 2013 at his residence. He was born October 28, 1927 in Vincennes, to John and Victoria (Carey) Moore.John was a Donut maker working for Walt's Donut Shop and then owned and operated Moore's Donut Shop until his retirement.He belonged to the Reel Avenue Christian Church and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Surviving is his wife, Shirley N. (Henderson) Moore; a daughter, Helen Nadine (Joseph) Brown of Charlestown, Indiana; two grandchildren, Todd J. Brown and Julie N. Russell; four great grandchildren, Christian and Carson Brown, and Christa and Bryce Petty; and a great-great grandchild, Gavyn Petty.He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers and sisters, Eston Moore, Jack Moore, Benjamin Moore and Ruth Bowman.Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday June 19, 2013 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Bryce Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit from Noon until the service time Wednesday.
