John Rogers

John H. Rogers, 69, of Vincennes, passed away at 6:10 pm Friday December 2, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital.He was born on March 8, 1947 in Richmond, Kentucky to Clive and Agnes (Amerine) RogersJohn retired from Vincennes University as a Professor in the English Department. John's involvements included being past president of the local Phi Delta Kappa, member of the Popular Culture Association, Old Town Players, Supporter of the IU opera, Modern Language Association, Literacy Bowl, Friends of the Knox County Library, National Council of Teachers of English, IU Alumni Association where he earned his PhD, and the Indiana Retired Teachers Association.Surviving are his brother, Glen Rogers and his wife Judy, of Georgetown, Kentucky; and a nephew, John Ross Rogers and his wife Amanda.A Memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday December 10, 2016 at the Old Town Players located at 5th and Broadway in Vincennes. Memorial donations may be made to the Old Town Players, Vincennes Pet Port, Vincennes Humane Society, or the Knox County Public Library.
