John Short

John Ralph Short, 76, of Owensville, IN passed away peacefully on Monday October 8, 2018 at Walnut Creek Alzheimer's Special Care Unit in Evansville, IN. John was born on September 29th, 1942 in Johnson, IN, the son of Carl and Helen Short. He owned and operated Short's Excavating at the time of his retirement. He is survived by four children, Tag Short, Bret Short, Tammy Richardson, and Terry Short; six grandchildren, Kyle Short, Lindsey Bittler, Jarod and Heath Hadley, Mady and Katey Short; a great-grandson, Aiden Short; two brothers, Winston and Dean Short. He was preceded in death by parents Carl and Helen Short, three brothers RK, Dexter, and Donald Keith and sisters Mary Creek, Lois Evelyn, and Joyce Farrar. Holder's Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Short. Visitation will be held at Holders Funeral Home 319 S. Main St. Owensville, IN on Wednesday, October 10th, from 4:00-8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 11th at 10:00 am with Paul McGee, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Maumee Cemetery in Johnson, IN. Johns' family would like to thank all of those who provided care for him during his bout with Alzheimer's. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to ALZ.org (Alzheimer's Association) and Shriners Hospital.
