Jon Petts

Jon Patrick Petts, 56, passed away at 5:42 am on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Jon was born in Vincennes on September 6, 1958 the son of Robert Joseph and Patti (Adams) Petts. He married Tina Rae Ashby on August 30, 1980.Jon was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He enjoyed his family and being a papaw above all. He loved Cardinal baseball, anything outdoors, and music. Jon took pride in his job for over thirty seven years as a crane operator for Local 841.Survivors include his wife, Tina Rae Petts of Decker; daughters, Chelsey Cardinal and her husband Brandon of Oaktown, Shelby Oexmann and her husband Garrett of Vincennes; mother, Patti Petts of Vincennes; sister, Mary Zoe Cannon and her husband Dick of Morgantown, brother, Dan Petts and his wife Jody of Zionsville, sister, Gina Bailey of Vincennes, brother, Rob Petts and his wife Tina of Decker, grandchildren, Quaid Cardinal, Auggie Cardinal, Jud Cardinal and Quinn Oexmann on the way in July; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Jon was preceded in death by his father, Robert Joseph Petts and nephew, Collin Reed Petts.A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 24, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Pascal Nduka officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit with Jon's family from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
