Joseph Richard Mumma went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at the age of 83, with his family by his side. He was born on Thursday, May 19, 1938, to the union of George Mumma and Nellie Mumma of Cannelburg Indiana. Those left to cherish his memories include one son Joseph Richard Mumma Jr., wife Stephaine, five grandchildren Tanner Mumma, Levi Arvin, Michael Arvin, Harley Mumma, Tucker Mumma, one sister Phyllis Alletree, one brother Bob Mumma, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends, He is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years Linda Tolbert Mumma, parents George Mumma, Nellie Mumma, four brothers Lacey Mumma, Russell Mumma, Dean Mumma, and Norman Mumma. Joe Mumma loved his family very much. Spending time with them and working along their side was his passion. Owning Mumma Salvage Yard for over 40 years was his passion. He loved to tinker and work on cars of all makes and models. He loved to help people he would give the shirt off his back to help someone. Talking about Jesus and discussing the bible daily with his grandchildren or who ever he did business with was very important to him. Spreading the Gospel put a smile on his face. He loved his church family. Reading his bible daily and living by what he read is how he lived his life. He read his bible from beginning to end many times. That was an accomplishment for him. He loved to play with the grandchildren and teach them the salvage business so that one day they could carry on his knowledge and wisdom of the junk yard business and teaching them about God. He will be deeply missed by all! Funeral services celebrating the life of Joe Mumma will be held Friday, December 3, 2021, at 1:00 PM at Goodwin Sievers Funeral Home 2020 State Street Washington, Indiana. Officiating will be Pastor Jim Russell. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Washington, Indiana. Under the direction of Goodwin Sievers Funeral Home, Washington, Indiana. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021, at 10:00 am until service time at the funeral home.
