Joyce Carroll

Joyce Jeanette Carroll, 92, passed away on April 6, 2023 at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville, IN. Jeanette was born on February 4, 1931 in Daviess County and she is the daughter of Earl and Ethel (Pruitt) Byrer. She was raised by her loving aunt and uncle, Gayle and Carl Hunter, who preceded her in death. Jeanette married Donald R. Carroll on April 25, 1954 and he preceded her in death on December 8, 2019. Jeanette had worked for GC Murphy and NWSC Crane Naval Depot. She also had been a Lay Pastor for Burns City United Methodist Church. Jeanette was a member of Cornettsville United Methodist Church and loved serving her God. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, and loved animals, especially her dog. Most importantly, she loved her family and grandchildren. Survivors include her children, daughter, Misha Engleman and her husband Bryan of Plainville, IN; son, Kent Carroll and his wife Alice of Washington, IN; a cousin whom she was raised with, Rita Wilson of Newburgh, IN ; her grandchildren, Greg Engleman, Annie Engleman, Taylor Carroll, Olivia Wagler and her husband Addison, Grace Carroll; great grandchildren, Kayden, Sawyer, AJ, and one on the way. Jeanette is also survived by beloved nieces and nephews. Jeanette is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Ethel Byrer, husband Donald R. Carroll, infant Baby son Bradley, her sister Betty Brummett, and her brother, Lowell Byrer. Friends may visit with Jeanette's family from 4-8 pm on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 2020 State St., Washington, IN 47501. Jeanette's funeral service will begin at 10:30 am on Friday, April 14, 2023 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. Don Smith and Dr. John Hundley officiating.
