Joyce Phillips

Joyce Phillips, 73 of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Hillcrest Healthcare Center in Owensboro, KY. Joyce was born on December 17, 1937 in Utica, Kentucky to the late William Everett Edmondson and Myrtle Ann Lanham Edmondson. She retired as an Assistant Housekeeper from Best Western. She was a member of Utica Baptist Church. She loved to go fishing and camping and also loved to read. She was preceded in death by her brother Carlos Edmondson. She is survived by her husband of 54 years Johnny Phillips, Sr.; three sons, Johnny R. Phillips, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Philpot, KY, Steven Phillips and his wife Kathy of Owensboro, KY, Vernon Phillips and his wife Virginia of Owensboro, KY; 9 grandchildren, Johnny Phillips, III, Bradley, Beth, and Jennifer Phillips, Chad and Jordan Raymer, Sarah Osborne, Jennifer and William Danhauer; and 4 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Larry Edmondson of Owensboro, KY, and Luke Edmondson of Utica, KY; one sister, Faye Page of Utica, KY; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at are at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend J. W. Haire officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Henderson County, KY. Visitation will be at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
