Joyce Rayman

Joyce Rayman, 96, better known as Granny, passed away at 9:20 am on February 6, 2025 at Amber Manor in Petersburg, IN. Joyce was born on November 16, 1928 in Daviess County, IN the daughter of James C. and Ruth (Summitt) Lee. She married Ernest (Ernie) Rayman on April 7, 1951, and he preceded her in death on May 4, 2004.

Joyce attended Bethel Church of Washington and was always ready to go to the Smoky Mountains. For years she followed her mothers foot steps in making beef and noodles every Sunday for her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Veale of Washington, son Gary Rayman and his wife Barbara of Washington, grandchildren, Amy Rayman, Tammy Schroeder and her husband Tim, Bryan Veale and his wife Jessica, Cara Foreman and her husband Andrew, Ashley Veale, Kendra Harner and her husband Jereme; great grandchildren, Alexa Campbell and her husband Cody; Zachary, Eli and Charlotte Veale; Alyssa and Gunner Foreman; Nicholas Harner; great great granddaughter, Ella Campbell; sister, Donna Allen; brothers, Wayne Lee and his wife Sue, Morris Lee, Larry Lee and his wife Jean, Eddie Lee and his wife Rena, brother-in-law, John James, several nieces and nephews and special neighbors Buck and Brenda Barley. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son-in-law Mark Veale and sister Kay James.

Friends may visit with Joyce's family from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 2020 State St., Washington, IN 47501. Funeral services for Joyce will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home. Pastor Tony Franklin will officiate and Joyce will be laid to rest next to her husband Ernie in New Veale Creek Cemetery. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is privileged and honored to be entrusted with the care of Joyce and her family.
