Julie Warthan

September 13, 1950 — August 5, 2023

Julie J. Warthan, 72, passed away at 1:34 am on August 5, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Julie was born on September 13, 1950, in Colfax, IL and she is the daughter of Kenneth and Janet (Dover) Gloyd. Julie married Rick Warthan on December 31, 1988, and he preceded her in death on April 9, 2010.

Julie was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and a Registered Nurse for several years working at Welborn Hospital in Evansville, IN and Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. Julie enjoyed many things in life. Some of those being fishing, euchre, dancing, singing, antiquing and going to antique auctions with her husband Rick. She loved baseball and was an avid IU fan and enjoyed traveling with her family. Julie was also an animal lover and always enjoyed adventures with Lita and participating in church activities with her. Most importantly though she loved her family and was obsessed with her grandson Rowan.

Survivors include her children, Todd Worthington of LaPorte, IN, Kayleigh May and her husband Lloyd of Vincennes, Erick Warthan and his significant other Kimrae Banzon of Vincennes; grandson, Rowan James May; sister, Cheryl Poppe and her husband Larry of Colfax, IL; her honorary family, Valerie and Bradie Turpin, Kyle Howard; as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews that she loved dearly. Julie is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Janet Gloyd, her husband, Rick Warthan and her daughter-in-law, Karrie Worthington.

Friends may visit with Julie's family from 2:00 until 5:00 pm on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN 47591. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, August 14, 2023, at St. John Catholic Church, 803 Main St., Vincennes, IN with Father Garrett Braun celebrating.
