Karista Sheppard

Karista Leigh Sheppard, 48, of Newnan, Georgia went to be with the Lord on January 20, 2018 at the Piedmont Hospital in Newnan.She was born January 20, 1970 in Vincennes to William Hulen Overfelt and Jerri (Dananberg) Cunningham.Karista was a member of the Calvary Chapel in Newnan where she loved serving the Lord as she would help with the meal train for the sick and injured at the church. She also volunteered cleaning the church and having youth groups over at the house. Karista was the most selfless person, she had the heart of a servant. She always said she looked forward to the day she received her place in Heaven, as she heard the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant.".Surviving are her husband, Chuck Sheppard, whom she married April 29, 2000; her daughters, Madison Sheppard of Newnan, and Megan Sheppard of Terre Haute; four sisters, Angie (Troy) Tomson of Eutis, Florida, Dawn Weaver of Florida, Shirley Overfelt of North Port, Florida, and Amy (Tom) Nalley of Vincennes; an aunt, Cherl Crutchfield of Vincennes who raised Karista since she was 9; and her very best friend, Michelle Updike Voltz.She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Gary Overfelt.A Celebration of Karista's Life will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Friends may visit from 4-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Chapel Newnan or the Coweta County Humane Society.
