Karla Murphy

Karla J. Murphy, 78, of Vincennes, IN, passed away July 29, 2020, at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Karla had worked as a nurse's aide in area nursing homes, and following that, worked as a caregiver in KCARC group homes. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and playing card games with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching her great-grandchildren's baseball games. Playing bunko and watching the St. Louis Cardinals were some of her favorite activities. Karla was an avid Lincoln High School Basketball fan, attending both the girls and boys games. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church, and volunteered at the welcome desk there. Surviving are her children, Harold "H" Young, and his wife, Susan, of Effingham, IL, and Denah Harrington of Sumner, IL; her brother, Keith Bowman of Vincennes, IN; her grandchildren, Katrina Gardner and her husband, Justin, Trisha Organ and her husband, Troy, Mikayla Greene and her fiance', Luke Nash, Dalton Greene, Taylor Greene, Jessi Lewin, and Tanner Lewin; and her great-grandchildren, Miles Gardner, Jacob Gardner, Taylee Organ, and Tori Organ. Born November 29, 1941, in Vincennes, IN, she was the daughter of Harold W. and Delphia (Frankum) Bowman. Her parents and her husband, Jack Murphy, preceded her. Friends may visit with her family from 4:00 - 7:00 EDT on Sunday, at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN. Her funeral will be held at the Free Methodist Church, 1423 N. 4th Street, Vincennes, IN, at 10:30 EDT on Monday. Visitation on Monday will be from 9:30 - 10:30 at the church.
