Kathryn Case

Kathryn A. Siefert Case, 73, Vincennes, passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord at 10:45 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2010.She was born to Geneva A. (Edwards) and John W. Wendel September 4, 1937, in Cedar Rapids, IA. Her parents preceded her in death.She was raised in Houston, TX and graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1955 with a B.S. in Chemistry. She was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. Kathy worked at Eli Lilly and Company in Indianapolis as an organic chemist. She married Richard D. Siefert on October 1, 1960, who preceded her in death February 28, 1976. In later years, she worked at Vincennes University in the Math and Chemistry Departments, retiring in 1995. Kathy married William T. Case on October 8, 1995, who also preceded her in death February 25, 2008. She was active in Knox County Extension Homemakers Club, Tri Kappa, and United Methodist Women at First United Methodist Church. She volunteered many hours of her time to work with the church and was passionate about helping others who needed assistance.Kathy is survived by her children, Laurie Hoffmann and her husband Tom of Cherry Hills Village, CO and John Siefert and his wife Tina of Fishers; stepsons Brad Case and his wife Pat and Gary Case and his wife Carolyn, all of Vincennes; grandchildren Tommy and Elizabeth Hoffmann of Cherry Hills Village, CO and Will Siefert of Fishers; step-grandson Ryan Case and his wife Audrey of Jasper; and three step-great-grandchildren.Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, December 19, at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway Street, Vincennes. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 20, at Vincennes First United Methodist Church, 411 North 4th Street, with visitation an hour prior. A graveside service will be held following at Memorial Cemetery in Vincennes. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church - Organ Restoration Fund.
