Kay Ellen Stokes

Kay E. Stokes, 74, of Vincennes, IN passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital on April 4, 2024. She was born in Vincennes on May 22, 1949, to the late Hershel Bowman and Virginia Cook. Kay attended Lincoln High School. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, spending time with her mother, Virginia, playing computer games, and watching sci-fi and true crime television.
Kay is preceded in death by her parents Hershel Bowman and Virginia Cook; nephew Brian Holloman; brother-in-law John Holloman.
She is survived by her husband Michael Stokes of Vincennes, IN; children Steve (Georgia) Hedge, Michelle Lofton, Michael (Dawn) Hedge, Penny (Jason) Smith all of Mt. Carmel, IL; 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren all of Mt. Carmel, IL; siblings Sheila Hollman of Vincennes, IN and Steven (Kimberly) Edwards of Washington, IN; niece Adrianne Edwards of Washington, IN; nephews Donald and Kainyn Edwards of Washington, IN and Jack Holloman of Belleville, IL.
Goodwin-Sievers is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. Stokes. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
