Kelly L. Potter

Kelly L. Potter, 60, of Washington, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 in Evansville, Indiana.


He was born on September 23, 1963, to Lionel Lloyd Potter and Ruth (Fitzgerald) Potter in Washington, Indiana.


Kelly was a 1981 graduate of Washington High School. On September 18, 1993, Kelly married the love of his life, Earlene (McCullough) Potter, and they spent 30 years together happily married. He worked various jobs throughout his life, Versteel in Jasper, Triple S Tire in Washington, and most recently he had worked for Zachry as an electricians’ assistant before his illness required him to step away.


Kelly loved to garden, and especially loved ensuring they had a good tomato crop every year. He was an avid Nascar fan, Indiana Pacers’ fan, and the Pittsburgh Steelers’ (only when they won though). He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and also loved to ride and clean his beloved Harley Davidson motorcycle. Most importantly, Kelly loved his family and spending time with them; especially his nieces and nephews.


Survivors include his wife, Wanda Earlene Potter of Washington, IN; his mother, Ruth Potter of Montgomery, IN; his sisters, Kathy (Mark Trambaugh) Gehlhausen of Montgomery, IN and Kim Potter of Washington, IN; nieces and nephews, Benjamin (Tegan) Hise, Jake (Morgan) Russell, Jordan (Ashley) Russell; great-nieces and nephews, Rowdy Hise, Magnolia Hise, Weston Russell, Memphis Russell, and Bentli Hise.


Kelly was preceded in death by his father, Lionel Lloyd Potter; and his niece, Anna Ruth Sizemore.


Visitation for Kelly will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2023, from 2:00 – 6:00pm at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home 2020 State St., Washington, IN 47501. Following the conclusion of visitation, a service will begin promptly at 6:00pm with Pastor Clarence Miller and Brother Steve Dayton officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to: The American Diabetes Association.
