Larry Arthur

Larry B. Arthur, 71, of 1716 N 12th, Vincennes, passed away on August 30, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville.He was born on September 19, 1941 in Vincennes, to Earl and Bertha (Conklin) Arthur.Larry worked for Johnson Controls for 32 years as a forklift operator, and also worked in the maintenance dept. After Johnson Controls, Larry worked for T.A. Brouillett, and Rex Alton Companies. He was a member of the Hoosier Cruisers, and enjoyed showing his 1951 Chevy that he had restored. He enjoyed traveling to the beach in Florida, sitting on the porch, watching old time movies, driving his golf cart, playing euchre with his former co-workers, and while as a child, playing baseball for the #1 school, for which he won several medals. His favorite times were spent with his family, and his dog ‘Sugar'.Surviving is his wife, Norma (Banister) Arthur, whom he married September 1, 1962, his children, Tony Arthur of Vincennes; Marilyn (Dave) Pennell of Washington, Carolyn Butler (Brad Bilskie) of Vincennes, and Sandy (Mike) Talley of Vincennes; a brother, James (Vonda) Arthur of Flat Rock, and sisters, Patty Pheffer and Dora Steel of Vincennes; his grandchildren, Christina Butler, Mindy Pennell, David Pennell, Kayla Talley, Paige Bilskie, Tyler Bilskie, and Amberly Pennell; and his great grandchildren, Kiersten Pennell, Spencer Pennell, Joel Pennell, Drayven Williams, Emily Wilkinson, Aerial Detty, and Kayge Pennell.Preceding Larry in death were his parents and 6 brothers.Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 - 8:00 on Tuesday, at Goodwin Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, at 11:00, at the funeral home. Committal services will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
