Laura Payne

Laura Michelle Payne (Roach), 49, of Bicknell, Indiana, transitioned into her next life on February 2, 2022, at 12:00pm. She was born on May 27, 1972, in Washington, Indiana, to Wallace Stephen Roach and Linda Jett (Robinson). Laura married Leslie Earl Payne on April 22, 1995. They shared 27 years together and together they had three children, along with nine grandchildren, and they were anticipating the arrival of their tenth. Laura enjoyed her family. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren, having her "Girl's Nights" with her best friends Jodie McCarter and April Browning, her special time with Debbie Brotzman, concerts with her brother, getaways with her sister, traveling to see her mother, motorcycle rides with her bonus dad, having her father as a great teacher and protector, date nights with her husband, and quality time with her children. She loved to sing and sang in the church during her youth. She loved rock ‘n roll and country music. She enjoyed going to the salon, painting her nails, and creating special floral arrangements. Laura also enjoyed visiting the summer cabin and making trips to the ocean. Laura welcomed many children into her home over the years and she extended her love and care to every one of them. Surviving Laura is her husband, Leslie Payne; her parents, Steve Roach and Linda Jett (Charles); her children, Shaneah Roach (Sean Shartzer), Nick Hay (Alecia Groves), Kishla Payne (Joe Willoughby); her siblings, Melinda Roach (Lester Erb), Cody Roach (Tabitha Wininger), Leila Drogich (Nick), Danetta Strate (Max), Lori Jett (Sabrina Pounders), and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gilbert & Garnetta Roach, Richard & Maude Robinson, Bethel Racey; her uncles, Carroll, Dick, and Bill Robinson, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Daniel and Virginia Payne; three angel babies, and a dear cousin Amy Critchlow. Visitation for Laura will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Goodwin Sievers Funeral Home 2020 State St. Washington, Indiana 47501 from 4:00 - 8:00pm. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, February 11, 2022, at Goodwin Sievers Funeral Home 2020 State St. Washington, Indiana 47501 at 2:00pm with Jaycie Arterburn officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Goodwin Sievers Funeral Home 2020 State St. Washington, Indiana 47501 to help with funeral expenses.
