Lela Mae Huff, 85, of Stonehedge Drive, Vincennes, passed away at 6:20 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at the New Willow Manor.She was born February 19, 1928 in Monroe City to Edward and Amy Cook.Lela retired as the secretary for I & I welding and enjoyed crocheting and knitting.Surviving are two sons, Albert (Charlotte) Strate of Bruceville, and Gary (Veda) Strate of Vincennes; a daughter in law, Marilyn Strate of Vincennes; a son in law, Randy Jackson of NC; two sisters, Anna Rivera and Carol Jacobs, both of Vincennes; nine grandchildren, Samuel Jackson, Patrick Jackson, Jeremy Jackson, Mary Beth Howell, Hannah Martin, Denny Strate, Drew Strate, Laura Bobe, and Jeff Strate, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Benjamin Strate; a daughter, Gloria Mae Jackson; two brothers, Lowell Cook and Marvin Cook; a sister, Fern Copp; and a grandson, John Strate.Graveside services will be held 10:30 Monday, June 3, 2013 at Memorial Park Cemetery.
