Lena M. Evans, 97 of Vincennes, passed away at 11:55 a.m. Friday, January 25, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital.She was born November 6, 1915 in West Baden, Indiana to Volney & Leona (Harlow) Leffler.Lena had worked as a grill cook at the Lincoln Grill and had also worked at Pom Roys. A member of the Central Church of Christ, she loved antique quilting and drawing.Survivors include a daughter Alberta (William Baker M.D.) Baker of Louisville, KY and their children, Lisa (Russ) Schoen M.D., Dana Baker, and Chris Baker; daughter June (Russ) Wells of Ranburne, AL and their children, Kim Goforth, Donna Goforth, Stephanie Wells, Bobby Goforth, and Mark Wells; son Jerry White of Ben Salem PA and his children, James White, Danielle White, Aleisha Ficano, and Christopher White; daughter Linda Brown of Alabama , and her sons, Mark and Robert Brown; and a son, William E. (Paula) Evans and their children, Joseph, Robert, and Nicholas Evans; a brother, Jesse (Carmen) Leffler of Oakland City, along with 16 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren.Preceding Lena in death were her parents, her husbands, Alvis Brock and Thomas G. Evans, and a daughter, Opal Brock.Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. Monday January 28, 2013 at Central Church of Christ with Roger Wright officiating. Burial will be held at a later time. Friends may visit from 10-11 at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Central Church of Christ.
