Leola Vantlin

Leola I. Vantlin, 88, of Vincennes, passed away at 3:28 p.m. Sunday January 4, 2015 at the New Willow Manor.She was born January 21, 1926 in Vincennes to William and Lucinda (Junkins) Briner.Leola retired from Kmart and had also worked at Montgomery Ward. She was a member of the Franklin Heights Christian Church and lifetime member of the VFW ladies auxiliary. Leola enjoyed bowling and visiting with people.Surviving are her children, Gary (Tammy) Davison of Vincennes, and Margaret Dierk of Lexington, KY; her grandchildren, Brent (Lisa) Davison, Krista (Dennis) Wagner, Gina (Jack) Burgess, Lori (Chris) Robinson, Jeff Dierk, Jason Dierk, Timothy Harkness, Alicia (Andrew) Crowley, and Winifred Harkness; her great grandchildren, Austin Wagner, Davison Wagner, Cole Robinson, Ty Robinson, Luke Robinson, Preslee Burgess, Jagger Burgess, Cassidy Hendershot, Madison Jo Hendershot, Garrett Holscher, and Natalee Holscher; and one great grandson, Jake Robinson.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vernie Vantlin; her brothers and sisters, Mildred Slater, Ruby Slater, Virginia "Jenny" Almond, Dorothy Lynch, Lloyd Briner, John Henry Briner, James Roberson, and Alvy Briner; and a great grandson, Benjamin Wagner.Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from Noon until the service Thursday. Memorial contributions may be to the Good Samaritan Cancer Center.
