Leroy Evans

Leroy Evans, 78, of Calhoun, KY. passed away April 25, 2009 at his home. He was born in Bollinger, Co., Missouri Sept. 20, 1930 to the late James Madison Evans and Nannie Holland Evans Chappell. H had been employed by Bower Bearing Co. in Detroit, Michigan for 13 years. Harrelson Seed Company for 17 years before retiring from Ben Hawes Golf Course in maintenance. Also had worked for Miles Farm Supply in West Louisville. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He enjoyed horseback riding and cattle farming. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Evans was preceded in death by a brother, Claude Evans and a sister, Jewell Sherill. He is survived his wife, Barbara Saltsman Evans, Calhoun, son, Gary Lee Evans and his wife Doris, Calhoun, a daughter, Janet Morehead and her husband, Craig of Owensboro. Two grandchildren, Jeramy Kelly and Carrie, Sarah Morehead, Step-grandchildren, Tim Bruce and LinLe, Carol Bruce and Joe, great-grandson, Ethan Kelly and 5 step-great grandchildren. A brother Joe Frank Evans of Gatewood, KY.
