Lillian Maxine Curl, 89, of Owensville, IN went to be with the Lord February 9, 2020 at Linda White Hospice House in Evansville, IN surrounded by her family. She was born January 3, 1931 in Sumner, IL to the late James Earl Farrar and Maude Irene Wirth. Maxine married the love of her life, Kenneth Curl, and was blessed with 5 children. Maxine was a proud farmer's wife and homemaker. She enjoyed driving the tractor, running parts, and helping around the farm. Maxine loved listening to gospel hymns, working puzzle books, and shopping. She was known to be a great bargain shopper and loved to save a penny; some people also knew her to be a garage sale queen. Maxine loved to talk to people, she never met a stranger. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Maxine was a member of Maumee General Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Allen Curl; siblings Harold Farrar, Emma Faye Hale, Darwin Farrar, and two infant siblings; and great grandson Jonathon Jones. Maxine is survived by her children Lynn (Ellen) Curl, J (Karen) Curl, Jenny (Steve) Schmuck and Connie Curl; daughter in law Sue Curl; siblings Darrell Farrar and Katherine Montgomery; 12 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren. Holders Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. Curl. Visitation will be February 13, 2020 at Maumee General Baptist Church from 10a-1p with funeral at 1p. Kevin Miley and Ken Nelson will be officiating with interment at Maumee Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Linda White Hospice House or Maumee Cemetery.
