Linda L. Allen

Linda L. Allen, 78, of Washington, IN passed away October 13, 2024. She was born at home in Loogootee, IN on June 1, 1946, to the late Robert and Mabel (McCord) Hembree. Linda attended Loogootee High School and was a member of the 1964 graduating class. She then married the love of her life, Herschel Allen, on June 13, 1964. Linda worked for several years at the Lighthouse Christian Academy, where she taught kindergarten. She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church.

In her free time, Linda, enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, cooking, watching games shows, reading, singing in choir, and spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Mabel Hembree; and husband Herschel Allen; sisters in law Marilee Hembree, Mary Sue Hembree, and Louise Hembree.

She is survived by her children Christina (Brent) Wittmer, Benjamin Allen, and Robert (Sasha) Allen; grandchildren Jonathan Wittmer, Katie (Craig) Heinz, Jared (Yesenia) Wittmer, Amy (Charles) O'Neill, Anna (Austin) Allen, Genesis Allen; great-grandchildren Adlee Heinz, Barrett Heinz, Noah Wittmer, Matilda O'Neill; siblings Eugene Hembree, Donald Hembree, Harold Hembree, Carolyn McGuire, Edward (Carole) Hembree; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Goodwin-Sievers is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. Allen. Visitation will be held November 2, 2024, at 2020 State Street from 11 am to service time. A Celebration of Life will begin promptly at 1 pm following the visitation held on November 2, 2024.
