Linda A. Nightingale

Linda A. (Mahrenholz) Nightingale, 76, of Vincennes, IN, passed away peacefully at the Lodge of the Wabash in Vincennes on December 20, 2024.

She was born on April 18, 1948, to the late Herbert & Betty (Grubb) Mahrenholz in Vincennes. She was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church as an infant in Vincennes on June 20, 1948.

Linda graduated high school in 1966, and shortly after, attended Vincennes University to become a Medical Technologist. She worked as a Medical Technologist in the laboratory at Good Samaritan Hospital for over forty years up until her retirement in 2013.

On April 17, 1980, she married the love of her life, Jerry R. Nightingale, and he preceded her in death on June 2, 2021. 

Before his passing, Jerry and Linda were big supporters of the FOP, and the Shop With a Cop Program every year in Vincennes. They loved to camp at Oubache Trails Campground, and you could always find them in spot #13, where they had camped for years. Linda and Jerry's love for one another was immense, and she missed him dearly following his passing.

In her free time, she enjoyed stamping and making greeting cards with her friends for various members of the community throughout the year.

Survivors of Linda include her aunt, Grace Mahrenholz; her cousins, Gene Mahrenholz, Helen Haley, Melissa VanLue, Paula Jones, and Jonathan VanLue; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry R. Nightingale; and her parents, Herbert & Betty (Grubb) Mahrenholz.

Visitation for Linda will be held on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at the Tower Mausoleum in Memorial Park Cemetery in Vincennes from 9:00-10:00am ET. A funeral service will begin at 10:00am ET following, and entombment will follow.
