Linda Spear

Linda S. Spear, 79, of Haubstadt, IN formerly of Owensville passed away August 26, 2023. She was born in Owensville, IN on February 7, 1944, to the late Hearl and Lillie Phillips. Linda graduated from Owensville High School in 1962. Linda married Richard "Dick" Spear on August 21, 1963. She worked for Phillip Mowry and Schultheis Insurance Group as an administrative assistant for 20+ years.,

In her free time, Linda enjoyed going to the casino, flower gardening, reading, Thursday lunches with cousins and friends, walking around Owensville, supporting her grandchildren's sporting events, cooking and baking for her family, and playing poker at family cookouts with her siblings. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by all.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; husband Dick Spear; siblings Marvin Wayne (Joyce) Phillips, Joe Phillips, Donnie Phillips, Betty (Potter) Hancock, Erma (Kenny) Garrett; Mary Anna (Alvin) Williams, and 4 siblings that died at birth.

She is survived by her daughters Kristy (Larry) York and Jami (Ryan) Allen; grandchildren Zackary (Emily) York, Jordan (Chase Peacock) York, Ty Allen; great-grandchildren Weston Peacock and Graham York; sister-in-law Shirley Phillips. and many nieces and nephews.

Holder is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. Spear. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 30, 2023, 2-6pm at Shinnyville Hill 4467 W 525 S, Owensville, IN. A funeral service will be held August 30, 2023, at 6pm with burial at Maumee Cemetery following immediately.
