Lionel Potter

Lionel Lloyd Potter, 80, passed away at his residence on September 24, 2019. Lionel was born on July 4, 1939 in Daviess County the son of Lloyd and Grace (Jones) Potter. He married Ruth Fitzgerald on October 23, 1961.Lionel was a 1957 graduate of Washington High School and retired from Duke Energy as a boiler operator. He was a member of the Hudsonville United Methodist Church and the Washington Masonic Lodge F & M 30. Lionel also loved his grandchildren, basketball and NASCAR.Survivors include his wife Ruth Potter of Montgomery; daughters, Kathy Gehlhausen of Montgomery, Kim Potter of Washington; son, Kelly Potter and his wife Earlene of Washington; grandchildren, Benjamin Hise and his wife Chelsi, Jacob Russell, Jordan Russell, Anna Sizemore; great grandchildren, Rowdy Hise, Jack Shaw, Meadhoh Jerrels, Magnolia Hise and Weston Russell. Lionel was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Darlene Adams, brothers, Richard and Randy Potter and nephew Greg Adams.Friends may visit with Lionel's family from 11:00 am until the hour of the memorial service of 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 2020 State Street, Washington, IN. A Masonic memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday at the funeral home. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to assist the Potter family with arrangements.
