Lofton L.Christmas

Lofton L. Christmas, 82, passed away at 1:32 pm on August 4, 2020 at Daviess Community Hospital. Lofton was born on October 4, 1937 in Butler County, KY the son of Jocephus and Lucette (Staples) Christmas. He married Edna Burchett on October 11, 1957 and she preceded him in death on January 2, 2015.Lofton was a self-employed painter and served his country in the United States Army. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.Survivors include his son, Tim Christmas and his wife Theresa of Monroe City, IN; daughter, Tyann Hammock of Worthington, IN; brother, Jim Christmas and his wife Barbara of Russellville, KY, sister, Annie Kissick of Russellville, KY; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Lofton was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Edna Christmas; son, Tony Christmas; five brothers and four sisters.Friends may visit with Lofton's family on Friday, August 7, 2020 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 2020 State St., Washington, IN. A graveside service will be held at Sugarland Memory Gardens for Lofton at 1:30 pm with Rev. Chad Searls officiating.
