Lois June (Deckard) Clark, 83, Vincennes, passed away and met her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at her residence with her family by her side. She was born in Lawrenceville, IL on October 13, 1928, the daughter of Elvie Voss and Dora Elizabeth (Knott) Deckard. She married Robert J. Clark on April 6, 1944 and they made their life together for more than sixty-seven years. She is survived by her husband Robert J. Clark of Vincennes; four children, Sondra Twitty and her husband, Bernard, of North Port, FL, Karen Bruggeman and her husband, Dennis, of Vincennes, Robert E. Clark and his wife, Janice, of Vincennes and Bradford Clark and his partner, Kim Frees, of Copemish, MI; grandchildren, Timothy Twitty and his wife, Chereyl, of Sarasota, FL, Michael C. Bruggeman and his wife, Amy, of Vincennes, Todd Bruggeman of Evansville, IN, Dwayne Clark and his wife, Angie, of Lawrenceville, IL, and Holly Sterrett and her husband, Jonathan, of Vincennes; brother, Zelus Vern Deckard and his wife, Kitty, of McKeesport, PA; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Xavier Bruggeman, Karter Clark, Ian Twitty, and Jeremiah, Rebekah and Emma Sterrett.Preceding Lois in death were her parents; four brothers, Paul Edward Deckard, Elvie Junior Deckard, Walter Lester Deckard and Rollie Williams Deckard; two sisters, Mary Ada Hitt and Naomi Ruth Hendrixson; two grandchildren, Mark E. Twitty and Laura Jean Clark McRoberts and two great-grandchildren, Myles Ray and Shelby Jae Clark.Lois worked at Reynolds Spring Factory from 1956-1966 and was also a homemaker. She was a member of the Foursquare Gospel Church for fifty-three years where she served on the local United Foursquare Women's Committee as president, treasurer and secretary. She enjoyed helping cook and serve many dinners at the church. She also attended the Free Methodist Church and Christ Community Church. While at the Free Methodist Church she traveled on three different missionary trips to Haiti to help cook for the men while they built and repaired churches and schools. She loved to crochet and made many afghans for family and friends. Lois also loved to cook. Her granddaughters would come over to her house when they were younger and she would bake pies with them. One of the favorites was raisin pie. No one could make a raisin pie like she could. Every year the family would all come together for the Clark family Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. Lois would make her homemade noodles and homemade yeast rolls, which everyone happily enjoyed. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 31 at 10:30 a.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway St., with Rev. Chris Von Holten officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
