Lorene Goodson

Lorene M. Goodson, 100 passed away at 7:54 am on August 15, 2021 at her son's residence. Lorene was born on March 19, 1921 in Ozark, IL the daughter of Burlin and Orpha (Lawrence) Bundren. She married Herschel A. Goodson on June 14, 1945 and he preceded her in death. Lorene was a graduate of Vienna High School in Vienna, IL and went on to attend Illinois Beauty College. She then became a Rosie the Riveter putting bolts and rivets into airplane wings during WWII. Lorene had a deep love for her God and was a faithful and loyal member of the First Church of God for over seventy- five years. Lorene also enjoyed gardening and was a silver sneaker member at the YMCA. Survivors include her children, Ray Goodson of Oaktown; Bruce Goodson and his wife Cindy of Carlisle, Dorothy Sanders and her husband Oscar of Bicknell; daughter-in-law, Kathy Goodson of Vincennes; brothers, Ralph Bundren of Oceanside, CA, Donald Bundren of Ozark, IL, L.M. Bundren of Gary, IN; her grandchildren, Michelle Moore and her husband Bruce, Robert A. Goodson and his wife Samantha, Chris Sanders and his wife Lori, Eric Sanders and his wife Laura, Tyler Sanders and his wife Kristi, James Goodson, Steven Goodson and his wife Natasha; adopted granddaughter, Mandy Eddleman; her great grandchildren, Colton and Hunter Moore, Zach Goodson, Heidi Helton, Joel, Carson, and Avery Sanders, Braylen, and Makyla Sanders, and Susie Goodson. Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, Burlin and Orpha Bundren, her husband, Herschel A. Goodson, her son Carl Goodson, sisters, Berniece Slankard, Alene Jett, Louisa and Dorothy Bundren, brother, J.B. Bundren, and daughter-in-law, Becky Goodson. Friends may visit with Lorene's family from 10:00 am until the hour of service time of 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN with Pastor Dale Biehl officiating.
