Loretta L. Holl, 88, died on Monday, October 26, 2020 at 1:15 pm at BridgePointe Health Campus. She was born on February 8, 1932 in Knox County, the daughter of Chris and Cecilia (Kaiser) Vieck.Loretta was a long-time member of The Old Cathedral, attended St. Thomas Church, St. Thomas School, the Academy and St. Benedict's College, both inFerdinand. She received her Master's Degree from Catholic University of America in Washington D.C. During her educational career she taught junior and senior high schools and was an elementary school principal.On October 5, 1970 she married Justice Norman Arterburn. He was deceased on February 10, 1979. On February 6, 1980, she married John (Jack) Holl. He was deceased on October 28, 2012.Loretta is survived by three step-daughters: Joan Arterburn Walker of Marion; Linda Arterburn Ridgley of Kearney, NE; and Faith Arterburn Nicholson of Evansville; seven step-grandchildren; Diana Ridgley of Kearney, NE; Sean and Barb Ridgley of Fort Collins, CO; Rick and Rhonda Nicholson of Portland, OR; Chris and Cindy Nicholson, of Vincennes; Lisa Erdosy of Fishers; Jana Nicholson, Jon and Cindi Nicholson, both of Evansville; three brothers, Maurice Vieck, Joe Vieck, and Dr. Charlie (Mary Lou) Vieck, all of Vincennes; nieces and nephews, Edward (Anne) Ottensmeyer, Mike (Joy) Ottensmeyer, Mary (Doug) Catt, Kathy (Steve) Nelson, Patrick Ottensmeyer, Maureen Vieck, Peggy Scissom, Ron (Marge) Vieck, Ed (Lee Ann) Vieck, Bill (Debbie) Vieck, her very faithful care-givers for many years, Janie Marcinkowski, Christine Vieck, Brian (Kathy) Vieck, Alan (Jean) Vieck, Lori (Christian) Schuler, Charles (Nadine) Primus, Anita Nelson, Karen Bradford, Roy (Nancy) Primus, Barbara Miller, Dave Vieck, Carol (Bernie) Hageman, Terry (Kari) Vieck, Jackie (Bob) Richardville, J.M. (Patty) Vieck, Ann (Steve) Piper, Mark (Diane) Vieck, Susan (Mark) Nabb, Hugh (Jennifer) Vieck, Patrick (Mindy) Vieck, Nancy Levinson, Jeff (Terri Lynn) Vieck, and Lisa (Randy) Combs.Other than Loretta's parents and husbands, deceased family members are Fr. Larry Vieck, Fr. Hilary Vieck, Richard (Dick) Vieck, Agnes Ottensmeyer and Rita Primus; nephews, Ricky Vieck, Steve Vieck, Louis Primus and a niece Linda Rhoads-Ottensmeyer.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Old Cathedral on Saturday, October 31st at 11:00 am with Father Tony Ernst officiating. Visitation will be an hour before Mass at the Old Cathedral. Burial will at a later date in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
