Lovanna Kerzan

Lovanna (Sue) Kerzan 84 went to be with the Lord at 4:00 pm at her residence on Monday, November 11. Lovanna was born on February 28, 1929 in Bicknell Indiana, the daughter of Paul (Rip) and Thelma (McGaughey) Baldon of Ragsdale, Indiana. She married Paul Kerzan on August 26, 1945 and shared their lives together until his death on March 27, 1994. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Lovanna was a homemaker and also the proprietor of Sue's Caf in Westphalia. After the death of her husband Paul, she did volunteer work at RSVP in Vincennes. She was also well known for her home cooking and large family gatherings. She is survived by her four sons, Stephen and his wife, Cheryl of Mount Vernon; Donald and his wife, Judy of Vincennes; Robert and his wife, Carol of Vincennes; and Kenneth and his wife, Linda of Vincennes, 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Paul, sister, Barbara Petz and one great-grandchild,Anthony Dilcher. Funeral services for Lovanna will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the First Baptist Church, 2625 Wabash Avenue with the Rev. Dwight Howe officiating. Friends may visit with Lovanna's family on Friday, November 15 at Gardner Brockman Funeral Home, 505 Main St. from 5-7 pm and from 10:00 am until the hour of service time of 11:00 am Saturday at First Baptist Church. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Paul, at the Salem United Church of Christ Cemetery at Westphalia immediately following the service.
