Lowell Blakley, 74, of Vincennes, passed away March 9, 2012, at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was retired from Vincennes University, where he had taught electronics for 20 years. Lowell received his master's degree from Indiana State University. Prior to his teaching career, he had served in the United States Navy for 20 years, and served in Vietnam. Lowell was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. His memberships included the Knox County Shrine Club and the Vincennes Masonic Lodge #1, F and AM. Born December 22, 1937, in Vincennes, he was the son of Raymond and Muriel (Berry) Blakley. His parents and a daughter, Kristi Raines, preceded him. Surviving is his wife, Sharon (Grider) Blakley, whom he wed December 23, 1955; his sons, Mark (Cathy) Blakley of Princeton, IN, and Joel Blakley of Vincennes; sisters Helen Woods of Kokomo, IN and Alma Blakley of Auburndale, FL; a brother, Bernard Blakley of Scottsdale, AZ; grandchildren, Christopher Cavins, Neil Blakley, David Blakley, and Justin Blakley; two great-grandchildren; and a granddaughter due in April. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 13, at 7:00 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00
