Lucille Witshork

Lucille Agnes Witshork, 90, of Vincennes, went home to Heaven, while her family was at her bedside, from Willow Manor, on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013.She was born Oct. 9, 1923, in Vincennes, to Charles and Mary (Hawkins) Sanders. They preceded her, as well as her husband, John Witshork, whom she married April 14, 1946. He passed away on Aug. 7, 1973.Survivors include her daughter, Linda Witshork of Vincennes; her son, John (Carol) Witshork of Vincennes; the joys of her life, grandchildren Shawna and J. Logan Witshork; sisters, Jean Gibson of Lawrenceville, IL, and Alice Woodruff of Terre Haute, IN; sister-in-laws, Pat Sanders of Vincennes, and Lorene Sanders of Idaho; her favorite nieces, Mary Blank of Vincennes, and Sally (Greg) Lewis of Lawrenveville, IL; her special great-nephews, Derrick and Ryan Lewis; along with several other nieces and nephews.Lucille graduated from Lincoln High School, and was employed at the Brown Shoe Factory in the accounting department. Later she graduated from the Evansville Beauty College and worked as a beautician. The last twenty years of her working life were spent at Vincennes University as a desk clerk.Lucile loved to travel with her family. One of her favorite places was Disney World, because she and her husband, John, with their children, went there the first year it opened. Over the years, she enjoyed seeing the growth of Disney World. She traveled to many states and a few foreign countries. After her retirement, she took classes in stain glass, and painting, and enjoyed these hobbies.The funeral service will be conducted on Monday, at 11:00, at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway. Friends may visit with the family from 9:00 - 11:00 on Monday. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.Donations may be made to the Vincennes Pet Port.
