Lucinda Lou Slater-Archer, 71, passed away at 5:19 pm on March 10, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Lucinda was born on March 1, 1952, in Vincennes and she is the daughter of Ralph and Mildred (Briner) Slater. Lucinda married Robert Archer on June 16, 2001. Lucinda was a court reporter for Knox County Circuit Court and a member of Oaktown First Christian Church. She enjoyed spending time with her sister on Sundays and loved her cats. Survivors include her husband Bob Archer of Oaktown; daughters, Melody Combs of Vincennes, Amber Combs and her husband Philip of Francisco, IN; son Michael Combs; stepdaughter Heather Schwartz of Mentor, OH; sisters, Kay Slayton of Vincennes, Virginia Lacey of Vincennes; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Lucinda is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Mildred Slater, half-sister, Nancy Wells, niece, Christy Chambers, and nephew, Danny Burgess. Friends may visit with Lucinda's family from 10 am until 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN. Lucinda's funeral service will begin at the conclusion of visitation at 1:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Harley Archer officiating. Lucinda will be laid to rest in Oaktown Cemetery.
