Lucy Nelson

Lucy A. Nelson, 83, of 730 E. Purcell Station Rd., Vincennes, passed away at 7:15 a.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at her residence. Born October 1, 1927, in Vincennes, she was the daughter of John L. and Enid (Shoemaker) Eschbach.Lucy was co-owner and operator of Oinks Barbeque for thirteen years with her husband, Jack and also was the photographer and owner of LuJac Portraits. She was a member of the River Region Herb Society and a Red Cross volunteer.Survivors include her children, Theresa LaCombe and her husband Kelly of Port Orange, FL, Patricia Gratzek and her husband Mike of Vincennes, Melissa Nelson of Asheville, NC, Richard L. Nelson and his wife Sandra of Vincennes and Shawn W. Nelson of Vincennes; grandchildren, Seth Corts, Gabriel Corts, Michaela Gratzek, Kip LaCombe, Ashton Gratzek, Dillon LaCombe, Zachary Nelson, Dalton Nelson, Taylor Nelson, Jade Nelson and Chandler Nelson and great-grandchild, Blake Racey.Preceding Lucy in death were her parents; husband Jack, whom she married on June 18, 1950 and he passed away October 16, 1998; sisters, Dorothy Heines and Ruth Martin and granddaughter, Sarah LaCombe.Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, May 26 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway St. There will be no public funeral service.Online condolences may be sent throughwww.goodwinfamilyfh.com
