Pastor Luther Foster, 85, passed away at 3:37 pm on November 4, 2019 at Loogootee Nursing Center. Luther was born on December 26, 1933 in Petersburg the son of James Franklin and Lula (Frentress) Foster. He married Margaret Genevieve Foster and she preceded him in death. He then married Vernadine Zigler.Luther had been a Pastor for several churches and retired from Knoxville Wesleyan Holiness Church in Knoxville, OH after serving there twenty- five years. He enjoyed yard work, painting and getting together with family and singing. Luther also enjoyed church functions as well as church camps.Survivors include his wife, Vernadine Foster of Shoals; his children, Robert Luther Foster, James Palmer Foster and his wife Tracy, Patricia Ann Maser and her husband Keith, William Eugene Foster and his wife Jan, Sharon Kay Ackley and her husband Roy, Doris Mae Myers and her husband James, Janet Sue Gutierrez and her husband Diego, Larry Ray Foster and his wife Cheryl, Esther Lou McMaster and her husband Pete, Deborah Lyn Newton and her husband Joel, John Alan Foster, Mary Beth Brett and her husband Kevin; sister's, Dorothy Benge, Gettie Daffron, Mary Small; forty grandchildren, thirty eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Luther was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Margaret Foster, four brothers, Claude, George, Dwayne and James Foster, five sisters, Clyde Byrd, Edith McCain, Lorena Fulcher, Annabelle Sheetz, Alleen Mikels, infant daughter Rachel and daughter Sarah Jane.Friends may visit with Luther's family from 5-8 pm on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 2020 State St., Washington, IN. Luther's funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Trinity Gospel Tabernacle Church, 1600 State St., Washington, IN. with Rev's James Myers, Mark Hamaker and John Zeigler officiating. Luther will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Elnora. On line memories may be shared with Luther's family and friends at www.goodwinsieversfh.com.
