Lyman L. Morris Jr.

Lyman Morris Jr., 70, of Vincennes, IN passed away April 29, 2024. He was born in Vincennes, IN on October 8, 1953, to the late Lyman Sr. and Mary Jo (Harper) Morris. Lyman graduated from Lincoln High School. He married the love of his life, Nancy Evans, on April 10, 1976. Lyman worked as a laborer for PCA for 18+ years before retiring. Lyman proudly served his country in the United States Navy on the USS Milwaukee AOR-42 and the USS King DD214 and in the Army National Guard. He was a member of the Bunker Hill General Baptist Church, VFW and the American Legion.

In his free time, Lyman enjoyed fishing, squirrel and rabbit hunting, mushroom hunting, golfing, cooking, wood working, gardening, traveling to Missouri, mowing his lawn, and remodeling his home. He was known for being a jokester and animal lover. Lyman greatest achievement was his family. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. He will be deeply missed by all.

He is preceded in death by his parents Lyman Sr. and Mary Jo Morris; siblings Ronald Morris, Wenifer Joan Morris, Patricia Burton, and infant Linda Sue Morris.

Lyman is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nancy Morris; children Lyman (Jen) Morris III and Shannon (Aaron) Ruston; grandchildren Caroline, Ethan, Langston, Novalei, Jordan, Konner, Alyssa; sister Elaine Hatton; brother-in-law Michael Burton; beloved dog Taco; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Goodwin-Sievers is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Morris. Visitation will be held at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home,  524 Broadway St. on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 from 11 am to service time.  Service time will begin promptly at 1 pm with burial at Memorial Park to follow with full military rites.

Memorial donations can be made to the Daviess County Animal Shelter in Lyman's honor.
