Mack Wilson

Mack Wilson, 77, passed away at 6:25 pm on March 1, 2020 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Mack was born on August 31, 1942 in Pike County the son of Milton Howard and Lenora Esther (McCool) Wilson.Mack was baptized at Camp Illiana as a child and a life long member of Antioch Christian Church. He was a 1960 graduate of Montgomery High School where he was a student manager of the athletic department and a member of FFA and 4H. Mack joined the National Guard in 1959 and was active for seven years becoming a Sergeant E-6. He eventually accepted a position with Caterpillar until he became ill and went into the Nursing Home for seventeen years until he became one of the first participants in the Generations program and was able to live independently in his own home for the next thirty-two years. It was during this time that he obtained his associate degree in science from Vincennes University. Mack's true passion was helping others and did this through counseling many people on his Listening Post.Survivors include his daughter, Terri Stogsdill of St. Louis, MO; his special sweetheart, Linda Hendrickson of Vincennes; grandchildren, Amanda Stogsdill, Shawn Stogsdill and his wife Lacey and Eddie Gist; great grandchildren, Jameson Walker Stogsdill and Ophelia Lenora Rose Stogsdill. Mack was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Ellen Taubert and two granddaughters, Ashley Danielle Stogsdill and Destinee Lenora Rose Bogard.Friends may visit with Mack's family from 4-8 pm on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes and on Friday from 10:00 am until the start of the service at 11:00 am at Antioch Christian Church, 3007 East US Highway 50, Washington, IN 47501. Mack will be laid to rest in Antioch Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Open Arms Christian Home.
