Marcilyn Marvel

February 1, 1933 — March 23, 2024

Marcilyn Rae Marvel, 91, of Princeton, IN passed away at her home on the corner of Lyles Station Road on March 23, 2024, at 1:04 am.


Marcilyn was born February 1, 1933, to Levi and Eliza (Wilson) Tucker in their home on the corner of Shinnyville Hill in Owensville, IN.


Marcilyn was a proud Owensville Kickapoo, graduating in 1951. She married the love of her life, Ewell Lee Marvel, in 1952 and spend 43 beautiful years together until his passing in 1995.


Marcilyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ewell; and all her siblings, Alice (Raymond) Moser, Fern Martin, Annalee (Paul) Overby all of Evansville, Marion (Nadine) Tucker and Luella (Purvis) Clem both of Princeton, Clara (Howard) Jaquess and Darwin (Nancy) Tucker of Owensville and Barbara Tucker who died at 12 of scarlet fever.


She is survived by her three children Mark (Kim) Marvel and David (Kelley) Marvel of Princeton, Sandy (Todd) Bury of Owensville, and a special bonus daughter Karla (Tim) Cooper of Princeton. Marcilyn was blessed to be a blessing to her nine grandchildren, Jacob (Savannah) Marvel, Zackary Marvel, Katie Marvel, Alison (Christian) Robicheaux, Olivia Marvel, Mackenzi Cooper, Tucker Cooper, Ethan Bury, and Tim Marvel and her six great-grandchildren, Isabella, Braelyn, and Maricella Marvel and Emerson, Eli, and Emery Robicheaux. She also has several nieces and nephews.


Marcilyn lived her life serving other in Jesus' name in any way God put before her. Her special words were Joy and Persevere and she was a wonderful example of both.


Goodwin-Sievers is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. Marvel. Services and visitation will be held at Shinnyville Hill Venue, 4467 W. 525 S., Owensville, IN. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 2nd from 4-8 pm and Wednesday, April 3rd from 10 am to service time at 11 am. Burial will follow immediately at Antioch Cemetery.
