Margaret Day

Margaret E. Sickler Day, 93,Lodge of the Wabash, Vincennes, passed away at 4:57 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the Lodge.She was born April 8, 1919 in York PA to Walter and Mary Jane (McGinnis) Sickler. She married Harry P. Day on March 6, 1943. They were married until his death on June 25, 1995.Margaret worked in the counseling department at Montclair State College in Montclair, N.J. She enjoyed the outdoors, reading, flower gardening, and spending time with her family.Surviving are her four children; William H.Day and his wife Sharon, of Griffin, GA, Marianne Wharton and her husband, David of Oxford, Miss, Phyllis Johnson and her husband,Jeffrey,of Vincennes, and Barbara Day of Newton, MA; her seven grandchildren, Anne (Day) Smith and her husband Stephen, Samuel Day Wharton and his wife,Dena Roberts, Emily Margaret Wharton, Renee Lynne Rerko and her husband, Kent, Gregory Maynard Johnson, Maggie Linn Burdeno, and Daniel Raymond Burdeno; two great grandchildren and one on the way.Preceding Margaret in death were her husband, her parents,and a brother, William Sickler.
