Margaret Mccrary

Margaret Joan (Kirk) McCrary, 79, of Vincennes, passed away at 9:30 am, Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012 at the New Willow Manor. She was born January 14, 1933, in Gibson County, IN, to Dale and Margaret (McNeese) Kirk. She was a faithful member of the Decker Chapel United Methodist Church, where she played the piano, taught Sunday School and served on various committees throughout her lifetime. Margaret graduated from Hazelton High School in 1951. She married Billie Ray McCrary on Oct. 12, 1951, and they were married 60 years, 4 months, and 24 days until his death, March 7, 2012. Surviving is a daughter, Kathy McCrary-Organ of Vincennes; a son, Gary McCrary and his wife Kathy, of Freelandville, IN; her grandson, Troy Organ and his wife Trisha, of Vincennes; granddaughter Jennifer Price and her husband, Greg of Freelandville; and her great-grandchildren, Gavin, Landon and Jorja Price of Freelandville. Other survivors include her in-laws, Jane Kirk of Columbus, IN, Imogene Kirk of Newburgh,IN, Ada Mae Carie, Jo Ann Vieke, David McCrary, and Dan McCrary of Vincennes, Margaret "Muggs" and Bill Steinenger of Decker, Frank and Lenora McCrary of Sandborn, IN; and many Kirk and McCrary nieces and nephews. Preceding Margaret in death were her husband, Billie Ray McCrary; her infant daughter, Vicki Lynn; her parents, Dale and Margaret (McNeese) Kirk; her brothers, Lester, Kurtis, Karl and Lewis "Tubb" Kirk; and her sisters, Katy Sherman, Phyllis "Susie" Stewart, and Betty Loyd. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 10:30, at Goodwin Funeral Home. Rev. Evelyn Owens and Rev. Mike Tarner will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 - 8:00 on Tuesday. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Decker Chapel United Methodist Church.
