Marie Cain

Marie S. Cain, 98, of Washington, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on January 16, 2022, at Legends Village in Washington. She was born on August 6, 1923, to the late John and Eva (Connell) Braun. Marie was a 1942 graduate of Washington High School. On April 7, 1946, she married the love of her life, Joseph Cain. Together they had four children, Linda, Mike, Dick and Mark. She was the oldest living member of Pleasant Hill Methodist Church in Washington and enjoyed attending on Sundays. She worked as a Word Clerk at Daviess Community Hospital for twenty-four years. After retirement, she went back to work and worked for many more years. Marie simply enjoyed working. Surviving Marie are her children: Linda Cherry of Ft. Myers, Florida, Richard Cain of Washington, Indiana, and Mike Cain (Monique) of Spartanburg, SC; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two nieces, one nephew, and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: Joseph Cain; her parents: John and Eva; her son: Mark Edward Cain; and her sister: Louise Roberts. Visitation for Marie will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022, from 10:00 - 12:00pm at Goodwin Sievers Funeral Home 2020 State St. Washington, IN 47501. A funeral service will begin immediately at 12:00pm. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Washington. The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 3709 S County Road 50 W, Washington, Indiana 47501.
