Mark Byrd

Mark Eugene Byrd, 66, of Hazelton, IN passed away August 7, 2021. He was born November 24, 1954 in Vincennes, IN to the late William Byrd and Sophia (Baker) Bowens. Mark graduated from Lincoln High School and then went to work for Homes Plumbing as a service technician. He married the love of his life Connie (Russell) Byrd on January 28, 1974. He was a member of the Eagles Local number 384. Mark enjoyed many things in life but some of his favorites are deer hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, playing darts, working on cars, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed. Mark was preceded in death by his parents William Byrd and Sophia (Baker) Bowens; step-dad Donald "Don" Bowens; siblings Michael Dent, Tony Byrd, and infant Virginia Byrd. He is survived by his daughters Lee Ann (Adam) Phillips, Jennifer (Harry) Young and Kristy (Jason) Mayles; grandchildren Alexandria Phillips, Austin Young, Garrett Young, Tanner Young, Jebadiah Mayles and Zane Mayles; great-grandchild Baby Mayles; siblings Angie (Bud) Godfrey and Tracy (Dawn) Byrd.; sister-in law Susie Byrd; and many nieces and nephews. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Byrd. All services will be at a later date.
