Mark Opell

Mark DeWayne Opell passed away from this life Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the age of 65 in Vincennes Indiana, he was born on Tuesday, November 29, 1955. Those left to cherish his memories include his wife Shannon Opell, 3 children Justin Opell, Hunter Jones, Bailey Jones, 2 sisters, Maria Seals, Melissa Opell, 1 niece Kim Brown, 2 nephews Billy Messer, Terry Like, 2 great nephews Eric Connolly, Drew Brown, 1 great niece Nichole Connolly, along with other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Nelson Opell, and his mother Leila Smith Opell. Mark loved his family very much and loved his friends like family. He loved to help people and he would give the shirt off of his back to help anyone, especially his friends. Doing side jobs and tinkering on things was one of his favorite things to do. Mark was a graduate of North Knox High School, and served in the United States Navy. Mark loved his country and loved to serve. He is a lifetime member of the VFW and member of the 40ET8 Club in Vincennes, He loved the outdoors, fishing, and mushroom hunting. He will be deeply missed by all. Graveside services celebrating the life of Mark DeWayne Opell will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 10:00 am at Memorial Park Cemetery 919 Willow Street Vincennes, Indiana, under the direction of Goodwin Sievers Funeral Home, Vincennes, Indiana.
